The word Ambrosia means sweet smelling or delicious. Ambrosia was also the magical substance eaten by the Gods of Greek mythology who lived on Mount Olympus. The God's kept their immortality by eating Ambrosia and without this substance, they became weak. A human being who took Ambrosia became strong and immortal. Sometimes the Gods mixed Ambrosia with Nectar as a drink and they also used it for bathing. The Gods were served Ambrosia and Nectar by Hebe, the daughter of Zeus and Hera.
