Preparation:
Put potato slices in boiling water for 10 minutes, or until soft. Drain. In small bowl, toss together 1-1/2 cups cheese, onion, and dilated. Set aside. melt butter in 1 quart saucepan, blend in flour and salt. Cook over low heat until mixture is smooth. Stir in milk, then heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil one minute. Layer 1/3 potatoes, 1/2 ham, 1/2 cheese mixture, and 1/2 sauce in buttered, shallow 3 quart baking dish. Repeat--making last layer with 1/3 potatoes. Top with remaining cheese and bread crumbs. Bake at 350ΓΈ for 30 minutes. |
