Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and lightly flour 9 x 13" baking pan. Mix together cake mix, butter and 3/4 cup evaporated milk. Spoon half into prepared pan. Bake 6 minutes. Meanwhile, in top of double boiler, melt caramels with 2/3 cup evaporated milk. Sprinkle top of baked layer with chocolate chips. Spoon caramel mixture over chips. Sprinkle top with chocolate chips and pecans. Stir nuts into remaining cake batter. Drop batter by spoonfuls on top of caramel mixture. Return to oven and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer. Do not overbake. Cool before cutting. |
