Fruitcake Squares

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons butter or margarine -- melted
4 cups vanilla wafers crumbs
3/4 cup halved candies green cherries
3/4 cup halved candied red cherries
1/2 cup chopped candied pineapple
3/4 cup chopped dates
1 cup pecan halves
1 can sweetened condensed milk -- (14-ounce)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 

Preparation:

1. Pour melted butter in a 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Sprinkle evenly with vanilla wafer crumbs.

2. Arrange cherries, pineapple, dates and pecans evenly over crumbs; press down gently.

3. Combine milk and vanilla; pour over fruit.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
