Preparation:
Stir the yeast into the warm (105 degrees - 115 degrees) water. Add the dry milk powder, melted butter, sugar, eggs and salt. Stir in half the flour. Beat until smooth. Blend in the remaining flour until moistened. Cover and refrigerate for between 2 hours and 4 days. Prepare the cream cheese filling by combining the ingredients and mixing the ingredients thoroughly. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut the dough into two parts. Butter two (9") round cake pans. Roll the dough into two 15" circles. Place one in each cake pan and press against the sides. Allow the edges to hang over. Spread each with half of the cream cheese filling and half of the apple pie filling. Slash the overhanging dough into strips to 1/2" above the filling. Twist each strip and fold over the filling. Beat the egg white until foamy. Brush over the dough. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. |
