Preparation:
Spray twelve 2 1/2-inch muffin cups with nonstick spray coating; set muffin cups aside.
In a large bowl stir together the all-purpose flour and yeast. Heat water, maple-flavored syrup or honey, margarine, and salt to 125 to 130; add to flour mixture. Beat with an electric mixer on low to medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping sides of bowl. Then beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Beat or stir in the whole wheat flour. Spoon batter into muffin cups. Cover and let rest in a warm place for 15 minutes.
Brush tops lightly with milk. Bake in a 400 oven about 20 minutes or till brown and rolls sound hollow when tapped. Remove from pans; cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm. |
