Preparation:
1. Using a chefs kniefe coarsely chop chocolate. Stir coffee with sugar in a small saucepan set over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
2. Add the chopped chocolate and the butter. Continue cooking, stirring frequently until mixture is smooth, about 3 minutes.
3. Stir in vanilla. Keep warm while serving in a small fondue pot or on a food warming tray set on low.
Notes: Serve with a selection of fresh sliced bananas, strawberries, kiwi slices, grapes, tangerine segments and pound cake cubes. For an extra jolt of flavour, place 2 Tbsp brandy, rum or irish cream liquer in a measuring cup and then pour in enough hot coffee to make 1/2 cup. |
