Preparation:
In a large frying pan fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and drain on paper towel. Remove half of the grease from pan. Fry onion and garlic in remaining grease. When golden brown add back the bacon and sliced cabbage. Add desired pepper. Port in the vinegar and stir. Put lid on and steam for about 5 minutes. Remove lid every so often and give the whole thing a good stir then put the lid back on until cabbage is wilted but still crisp. About 15 minutes. Serve with crusty french bread. |
