Preparation:
Drain pears, reserving syrup for later use. Dice pears. Put next 8 ingredients in saucepan, bring to boil and simmer 25 minutes. Blend cornstarch with 1 tablespoon pear syrup, add to first mixture and cook, stirring, until clear. Add pears and simmer 5 minutes. Cool and serve with curried meats or seafood. Makes about 3 cups. |
