Preparation:
Combine the onion, garlic and oil in a microwave-safe 8-cup measure.
Microcook, uncovered, at 100% power for 3 to 3 1/2 minutes until the onion is very soft. Stir in the catsup, vinegar, water, corn syrup, mustard, steak sauce, pepper and chili powder. Cover with microwave-safe plastic wrap vented at one edge.
Microcook at 100% power for 2 minutes until bubbly. Stir.
Microcook, covered, at 50% power for 4 minutes. Stir at half time. Cool.
Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
Makes 1 3/4 cups.
