Preparation:
Peel and core apples. Cut slices of bread into circles about 2 1/2-inches in diameter.
Place bread in buttered baking dish.
Place an apple on each piece of bread. In well in center of each apple, place 1 teaspoon sugar.
Add 1 teaspoon butter on each apple.
Bake at 375F for 30 minutes. Serve warm.
