Preparation:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. Blend in eggs
and
vanilla. Stir together flour, cornstarch and cream of tartar. Gradually add
flour mixture to creamed mixture; blend well. Chill dough until firm. Roll
out
dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/8inch thickness. Cut out with a
floured 3-inch cookie cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at
400~F.
for about 8 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove from baking
sheet
to a wire rack to cool. Fill cookies with Pink Butter Filling.
Pink Butter Filling
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar, cream and
vanilla. Tint with red food coloring. Beat until filling is of spreading
consistency. |
