Ingredients:
1/4 |

walnuts -- coarsely chopped |

butter or margarine |

bing or queen anne cherries -- chopped |

teaspoon |
grated rind -- (zest) of one orange |

tablespoons |
cherry brandy -- or orange juice |

tablespoons |
cherry juice -- or water |

teaspoons |
sugar |

teaspoon |
cornstarch |

Preparation:
Place walnuts and butter in glass measuring cup. Microwave on High 2 minutes. Stir and set aside. In large batter bowl or measuring bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Microwave on High 3 minutes. Stir well. Microwave on High another 3 minutes. Stir in walnuts. Cool slightly and serve over ice cream or cake. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a fresh long stemmed cherry. |
