Preparation:
In a non stick visions 1 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add flour and stir for 3 to 4 minutes or until well blended.
Gradually stir in milk; cook, stirring constantly until thickened and smooth.
Add 1 or more of the following to vary flavor: nutmeg 1 teaspoon lemon juice 2 tablespoons chopped parsley 2 tablespoons chopped chives
Serve hot on cooked vegetables, fish or poultry. |
