Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add jam and beat well. Add sifted flour, soda, salt, cloves and allspice alternately with buttermilk; beat until smooth. Stir in nuts and raisins.
Bake in 4 ( 9-inch) layer pans greased and floured on the sides with parchment paper lining the bottom. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
NOTES: Other jams may be substituted. |
