Preparation:
8 egg whites
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk
3 teaspoons baking powder
a dash of salt
3 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Sift flour, salt and baking powder 2 times. Beginning and ending with flour, alternate with milk 3 or 4 times into creamed sugar and butter. Beat and mix well. Beat whites until stiff. Fold whites into other mixture carefully. Pour into 9x13 inch oblong pan or a tube pan or 3 round pans, greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees F. |
