Preparation:
Whip the eggs and sugar until they are tripled in volume. Stir in flour with a wooden spoon. Add melted butter. Spread evenly in an 8-inch, greased springform pan. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for approximately 25 minutes or until the top springs back when touched lightly. Let cool. Loosen cake from pan with a sharp knife. Remove sides of pan. Split cake in three layers horizontally with a sharp knife. Place bottom layer in bottom of the pan, then cover with mousse filling. Add a second layer of cake and pour remaining quantity of mousse over it. Discard top layer. Refrigerate for up to 12 hours. If desired, serve slices of cake in a pool of maple liqueur-flavored vanilla sauce. - |
