Preparation:
Heat 2" deep oil to 375 degrees. Combine remaining ingredients; mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into hot oil, frying a few at a time until
golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Gilding the Lily: Yellow cornmeal can be substituted. Chopped roasted red
pepper or minced pickled jalapeno peppers can be substituted for some of
the onion. Green onions can replace the white onions. |
