Preparation:
Cream together butter, sugar, and jelly. Beat in eggs. Dissolve soda in milk and add. Sift together flour and spices and add half of this to the creamed mixture. Combine fruits and nuts and dredge with remaining flour mixture. Stir this into batter . Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on size of cookies. These cookies should be made well in advance of the holidays as they ripen like fruitcake. Makes: 8 dozen |
