Preparation:
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt in bowl. Cut in
shortening until well mixed. Break egg in cup; beat. Fill cup with milk;
mix. Add all at once to flour mixture. Mix with fork to make a soft dough
that sticks together. Turn out on floured surface; knead lightly about 15
times. Press to 1-inch thickness; cut with 2-inch cutter. Place in
ungreased pan. Bake at 450 F for 10 to 12 minutes. |
