Preparation:
In a saucepan, combine the ketchup, vinegar, honey, mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce . Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
In a small bowl or glass jar with a lid, combine the lemon pepper, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, MSG, Mrs. Dash, cumin and dry mustard. Stir or shake to blend.
Add a third of the dry ingredients to the sauce in the pan and stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add another third of the dry ingredients and stir and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add the remaining third and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Add the bourbon and stir well. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 1 hour until the flavors blend and the sauce is thickened. Use immediately or allow to sit in refrigerator for 24 hours before use. |
