Preparation:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together. Add flour mixture 1 c. at a time with milk. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating each one into the mixture. Add flavorings and beat batter for at least 5-7 minutes. The longer you beat, the more fluffy the cake.
Pour into a greased and floured tube pan (bundt or regular tube pan)
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hr. 15 min.
Cake is done when tester or toothpick comes out clean.
IMPORTANT:
Take the cake out and turn it onto a plate and place it in a covered cake box to cool. After it cools, wipe the condensation off the inside of the lid of the cake box. Cooling it covered makes it really moist but don't leave all that moisture on the lid or it will be soggy. |
