Preparation:
Simmer drumsticks with water, celery, onion, gravy base, salt and pepper for 20 minutes or until chicken is tender. Blend flour with 1/2 cup cold water; stir into the broth. Cook and stir over medium heat until gravy thickens. Stir in vegetables.
Dumplings: Combine dry ingredients. Combine the milk, parsley, lemon peel and lemon juice; stir into dry ingredients until just moistened. Drop batter in mounds atop the bubbling hot chicken mixture; cover and simmer 20 minutes. |
