Preparation:
Dissolve yeast in warm water stir in flour, shortening, honey, and salt-mix well turnout onto a lightly floured board knead 8-12 times, until smooth and elastic sprinkle lightly with flour rollout to a thickness of 1/4-inch cut into 3-1/2 inch rounds sprinkle ungreased baking sheet with cornmeal place muffins onto baking sheet sprinkle tops with cornmeal cover and let rise for 90 minutes (will not double in size) heat ungreased skillet over a moderate flame place muffins in heated skillet and cook for 7 minutes on each side, until a rich brown split with a fork and toast as desired serve hot or warm |
