1/4 cup beer
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 pound large shrimp -- peeled and deveined
Vegetable oil
Preparation:
Combine flour, cornstarch, and salt in a small bowl. Add beer, egg yolk, and butter; beat until smooth. Dip shrimp into batter; deep fry in hot vegetable oil (375 F) until golden brown.
