Shrimp Creole With Rice-Wheat Germ Ring

     1/2  cup           onion -- chopped
     1/2  cup           green pepper -- diced
     1/2  cup           celery -- thinly sliced
   1      clove         garlic -- peeled and minced
   2      tablespoons   butter or margarine
   2 1/4  cups          {18 oz can} tomato juice
   8      ounces        tomato sauce
   1      tablespoon    sugar
   1      teaspoon      salt
     1/2  teaspoon      marjoram leaves -- crushed
   1      tablespoon    cornstarch
   2      tablespoons   water
   1 1/2  pounds        medium shrimp -- cleaned and cooked
                        ***RICE-WHEAT GERM RING***
   6      cups          hot cooked rice
     1/2  cup           regular wheat germ
 

Preparation:

1. Saute onion, pepper, celery and garlic in brown, about 15 minutes. 2. Stir in tomato juice and sauce, sugar, salt and marjoram; heat thoroughly. 3. Combine cornstarch and water; stir into tomato mixture and cook 3 to 5 minutes until thickened. 4. Stir in shrimp; heat mixture to serving temperature. 5. Fill center of Rice-Wheat Germ Ring with shrimp and sauce; pour remaining sauce over ring. Serve immediately. butter over low heat until tender but not Rice Wheat Germ Ring 1. Mix rice and wheat germ together; pack into well-greased 6-cup ring mold. 2. Unmold on serving plate.
