Preparation:
Cook green pepper and celery in fat until tender. Stir in flour, add milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add cheese and seasonings and cook over hot water, stirring until cheese is melted. Simmer clams in their own liquor until tender, add to cheese mixture and serve at once on hot toast.
Pour mixture into a casserole and top with small Baking Powder Biscuits, Bake in a hot oven (400F ) 15 minutes. Pour into individual casseroles. Top each with large biscuit. |
