No-Peek Casserole

Ingredients:

   2      pounds        beef stew meat -- cut up
  16      ounces        sour cream
   1      cup           red wine
   1      pound         mushrooms
                        (you can cheat and use canned)
   1      package       lipton brand dry soup mix
   1      can           campbells brand mushroom soup
   1      teaspoon      garlic powder
   1      dash          louisiana hot sauce -- (optional)
                        salt and pepper
 

Preparation:

Mix all ingrediants, cover tightly, bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours. Don't peek! Serve hot over noodles. (A Cajun friend who went only by his first name which I have translated into polite language taught me this when I was quite young. I found in later years that people outside Louisiana refer to this dish as Beef Stroganoff..
