Ingredients:

  6             pounds  short rib
  1                cup  soy sauce
     1/4           cup  water
     1/2           cup  sugar
     1/2      teaspoon  msg
  2          teaspoons  fresh ginger root
  3          teaspoons  brandy
  1           teaspoon  garlic puree
 

Preparation:

place short ribs in a large saucepan, over a moderate flame add water to cover heat to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 60 minutes remove from heat, cool drain liquid, dry meat with a towel combine remaining ingredients in a deep narrow bowl add ribs, turning to coat well cover, and chill for 2-24 hours remove from marinade grill or broil ribs, 5-inches from coals, until browned and crisp arrange onto a serving platter garnish as desired serve hot
