Best Ever Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients:

   1 1/2  pounds        ground beef
   2      medium        onions -- chopped
   4      cloves        garlic -- minced
   4      tablespoons   dried parsley
   6      cans          tomato sauce -- 8oz
   2      cans          stewed tomatoes -- 14oz
     1/2  teaspoon      salt
     1/2  teaspoon      black pepper
   1                    bay leaf -- whole (remove
                        -- before serving)
   1      tablespoon    oregano
   2      tablespoons   italian seasoning
   1      pinch         allspice -- (sounds weird, but
                        -- was grandma s
                        -- secret ingredient!)
                        sliced mushrooms -- either fresh or
                        -- canned, optional
   1      thin          sliced zucchini -- optional
 

Preparation:

Brown ground beef and drain. Add onions, garlic, salt and pepper, parsley, oregano, Italian seasoning, allspice, bay leaves, stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce.(after emptying tomato sauce into pot, refill each can with water and add to pot) Bring to boil and then turn down to low and let simmer 8-10 hours. Add the mushrooms in the last two hours. The zucchini is best added at that time to if you want chunks of zucchini in your sauce, otherwise add in the beginning and kids will not notice they are there.
