Red Clam Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:

  2          teaspoons  olive oil
  1                cup  onion
  2          teaspoons  garlic
  15            ounces  minced clams
  16            ounces  canned plum tomatoes
  12            ounces  tomato paste
     1/4           cup  parsley
  1                     bay leaf
  1           teaspoon  sugar
  1           teaspoon  dried basil
     1/2      teaspoon  dried thyme
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
 

Preparation:

heat oil in a saucepan, over a medium flame add onions and saute for 4 minutes add garlic and saute for 4-6 minutes, until onions are golden combine with remaining ingredients in a crockpot-mix well cover and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours
