Crunchy Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients:

  2 3/4           cups  all-purpose flour
  1 1/4           cups  packed brown sugar
  1                     egg
     1/2           cup  buffer or margarine
                        softened
     1/2           cup  shortening
     1/3           cup  chunky peanut buffer
  1           teaspoon  vanilla extract
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
                        ***TOPPING***
  1                cup  semisweet chocolate chips -- m
     1/2           cup  chunky peanut buffer
  1 1/2           cups  crushed comfiakes
                        lted -- (6 ounces)
 

Preparation:

In a mixing bowl, combine the first eight ingredients and mix well (batter will be thick). Press into an ungreased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 3500 for 15-20 minutes or until set. Cool for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, combine choco- late chips and peanut butter in a bowl; stir in comflakes. Carefully spread on top. Cut into bars.
