Preparation:
Heat half and half, remove form heat and steep saffron in it for 20 minutes.
Sauté' onion and garlic until transparent in the olive oil and butter. Do
not
brown. Butter large pie plate and layer with potato and onion slices, adding
thyme, salt and pepper to each layer. Pour half and half over the top and bake
at 350, covered with foil, for one hour. Remove foil and bake an additional
15
minutes or until top is browned. Serve in wedge |
