2 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking soda in milk
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation:
Cream the shortening, then add sugar, cocoa, and eggs. Beat well. Add the
flour and then the baking soda. Add boiling water and vanilla. Rub butter
or lard into a cake pan and pour in the batter. Bake for 30 min. at 350
degrees.
