Preparation:
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Beat butter with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add dry mixture alternately with milk, ending with dry ingredients. Stir in nuts, lemon peel, and berries.
Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Pour in batter and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. While cake is baking, prepare syrup. To make syrup, combine ingredients in saucepan and cook 1 minute until sugar is dissolved. Pour syrup over cake while still warm. |
