Jiffy"Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients:

  1            package  jiffy yellow cake mix
     1/2       package  jiffy white frosting mix
     1/4           cup  butter
  1                     egg
  1                cup  sliced or crushed pineapple -- drained
     1/4      teaspoon  maple flavoring
     1/4           cup  oil
     1/4           cup  water
 

Preparation:

Melt butter in round microwave safe casserole. Sprinkle white frosting on top. Place pineapple and maraschino cherry halves on top of frosting. Mix cake mix, oil, water and egg. Blend on medium speed for 4 minutes. Pour batter over pineapple mixture. Microwave on power level 10 (high) for 7 minutes. Let rest 10 minutes. Invert on serving plate and cool. If oven does not have a turntable, rotate 1/4 turn every 1 1/2 minutes or so. Makes 10 servings.
