Preparation:
In a large pot brown ribs, about a third at a time, in a small amount of cooking oil. Drain off excess fat. For barbecue sauce, in a large saucepan combine the ketchup, water, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke, instant coffee granules, dry mustard, celery seed and minced garlic; bring to boiling. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour half of the sauce over the ribs in pot. Cover and refrigerate remaining sauce to serve with ribs. Cover and bake ribs in 325F oven about 3 hours or until meat is very tender. Skim fat from sauce in pot. At serving time, warm remaining sauce and pass with ribs. |
