Spicy Beef and Rice

Ingredients:

   2      lbs.          lean ground beef
   2      medium        onions -- chopped
   1      clove         garlic -- minced
   2                    cooking apples -- peeled, cored, and
                        chopped
   3      small         jalapeno peppers -- seeded and sliced
                        into thin strips
     1/2  c.            raisins
     1/8  tsp.          ground cinnamon
     1/8  tsp.          ground cloves
     1/8  tsp.          pepper
   4      c.            hot cooked rice (no salt added)
 

Preparation:

Brown ground beef, onion, and garlic in a Dutch oven. Add next 6 ingredients; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Serve over hot cooked rice.
