Preparation:
Combine and put in a tight container in a cool dark place. 1/4 cup = 1 envelope onion soup mix
ONION SOUP MIX 6 tb Onion flakes 2 tb Parmesan cheese; (optional) 2 ts Corn starch (optional) 2 tb Beef bouillon 1 tb Soybean flour 2- 3 tbsp vegetable protein 2 tb Instant mashed potatoes Blend all of the above ingredients together until well blended. Shelf life-- 2 months. TO RECONSTITUTE: Use 2 Tablespoons in 1-1/2 cups boiling water.
Lipton Onion Soup Mix 7 oz Beef bouillon; granules 1/4 c Instant tea powder 1/2 ts Pepper 1 c Dry minced onion 1/4 c Onion powder 1/4 c Parsley flakes 1/8 c Onion salt; 7 ts Combine in order listed. Keep the mixture in jar at room temperature. 1/4 cup mix equals 1 envelope commercial soup mix
TO USE: 1/4 cup mix to 4 cups boiling water. Stir well until soup is dissolved.
ONION SEASONING MIX (From: Make- A-Mix) (Makes 1 package of onion seasoning mix)
4 teaspoons instant beef bouillon granules 8 teaspoons dried minced onion 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon Bon Appetit Seasoning
Cut a 6" square of heavy duty foil. Place all ingredients in center of foil. Fold foil to make an airtight package. Label with date and contents. Store in a cool, dry place. Use within 6 months.
I got this out of a fairly old big red "Betty Crocker Cookbook." It is associated with a recipe for pot roast: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - BOUILLON-ONION MIX
Mix 1/4 cup instant minced onion, 2 tablespoons instant beef bouillon and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. (To make soup, stir mix into 4 cups boiling water; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 5 minutes.)
NOTE: 1 package 1 3/8 ounces) onion soup mix can be substituted for the Bouillon-Onion Mix.
SEASONED SALT
1/2 cup salt 1 tablespoon celery salt 1 tablespoon garlic salt 1 tablespoon paprika 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon pepper
Place all ingredients in blender container. Cover and blend on high speed 20 seconds. Store in tightly covered container. |
