Cheap, Easy Golden Cornbread

Ingredients:

  2               cups  yellow or white cornmeal
  2               cups  flour
     1/2           cup  sugar
  2        tablespoons  baking powder -- plus
  2          teaspoons  baking powder
  1           teaspoon  salt
  2                     eggs
     1/2           cup  vegetable oil
  2               cups  milk
 

Preparation:

Mix all together and pour into a large greased pan. (Iron skillets are supposed to work the best, but you may need two.) Bake at 450 for 25 to 30 minutes or until tested done.
