Crescent Rolls Or Raised Doughnuts

Ingredients:

  1                cup  scalded milk
  1                cup  potato water
  1                cup  soft mashed potatoes
     1/2           cup  sugar or 1/3 c. honey
     1/3           cup  butter
  2        tablespoons  dry yeast or 1 cake
                        fresh yeast
  1           teaspoon  salt
  2                     beaten eggs
  1           teaspoon  vanilla or lemon
                        flavoring
  5               cups  flour
 

Preparation:

Mix all into a sponge. Beat with mixer until full of bubbles. Add salt, eggs, flavoring and flour. Mix well. Let rise until double in size. Knead down and make into doughnuts or crescent rolls or filled buns. Leftover scraps may be made into buns or loaf.
