Preparation:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Pour the boiling water over dates and cereal in heatproof bowl; let stand until warm. In large bowl mix brown sugar, margarine and egg; stir in date mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients until well blended. Spread in pan. Bake 60 to 70 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely before slicing. Serve. Makes 1 loaf |
