Ingredients:

   1      tablespoon    yeast
   3      tablespoons   + 1/2 t. sugar
     1/2  cup           milk
     1/2  stick         butter -- cut into bits
   1      large         egg -- beaten
   1      teaspoon      salt
   3      cups          flour
   1      cup           light brown sugar
     1/2  stick         butter
     1/3  cup           dark brown sugar
   2      teaspoons     cinnamon
     1/3  cup           raisins
     1/3  cup           pecans
   1                    lemon rind -- grated
 

Preparation:

Make dough with first 7 ingredients. Put dough in well buttered bowl and let rise in a warm place for an hour. Punch down dough and roll into an 128x130 rectangle. Make filling: In a 10" round baking pan combine the brown sugar, 2 T. of the butter and 1/4 C. of water. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved and let it cool. Spread the remaining 2T. butter softened, to within 1/2" of the edges of the dough and sprinkle it with the dark brown sugar Sprinkle the dough with the cinnamon, raisins, pecans and lemon rind and drizzle 1/4 C. of the melted sugar mixture over it. starting with the long end, roll up jelly roll fashion. Cut the dough crosswise into 16 rolls, put the rolls cut side up on the sugar mixture in the baking pan, and let rise for 20 minutes in a warm place, covered with a loose towel. Bake the rolls in a preheated oven of 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until they are golden. Let them cool in the4 pan ona rack for 5 minutes. Serve warm.
