Preparation:
Brown one round steak in as little fat as possible. Slice one LARGE onion thinly. Remove beef - brown onion until just tender. Return meat.
Add pepper and (if you like) green pepper slices. Add 3/4 cup water. Cover and simmer about 45 minutes, turning meat occasionally.
Taste for seasonings - adding pepper and salt if necessary. Thicken sauce with a little cornstarch mixed with water. |
