Baked Cavatelli

Ingredients:

   8      ounces        fusilli pasta -- cooked and drained
  12      ounces        turkey Italian sausage -- sliced 1/4" thick
     3/4  cup           green onion -- chopped
   2                    garlic cloves -- minced
   2      cups          tomato sauce
  14      ounces        spaghetti sauce
   4      ounces        nonfat mozzarella cheese -- shredded
   1      teaspoon      Italian seasoning
     1/4  teaspoon      pepper
 

Preparation:

Cook and drain pasta; set aside. In a large skillet cook sausage until no pink remains; remove from skillet. Whip pan clean and spray with cooking spray; cook green onion and garlic until tender. In a 2 quart casserole combine cooked pasta, sausage, onion mixture, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, half of the mozzarella, Italian seasoning and pepper. Toss gently to combine. Bake, covered, in a 375 oven for 25 minutes. Uncover, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and bake for 5 to 10 minutes more or until heated through.
