Linguini With Tomato-Basil Sauce

Ingredients:

   4      cloves        garlic -- peeled and minced
   3      tablespoons   olive oil
   3      cups          Italian plum tomatoes -- coarsely chopped
                        salt and pepper -- to taste
  18      ounces        linguini -- or other thin pasta
   1      bunch         fresh basil leaves -- no stems, chopped
  12      tablespoons   parmesan cheese -- freshly grated
 

Preparation:

Sauté‚garlic in olive oil until golden, but not brown. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper and simmer over med. heat for 20 minutes Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package. When sauce is done simmering, remove from heat and stir in basil. Toss pasta with sauce and serve. Top with cheese.
