2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon Chinese hot mustard -- up to 1
1 large garlic clove -- minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon Asian chile paste with garlic -- up to 3
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients except chile paste in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then turn off heat. Stir in chile paste.
Makes 1 1/4 cups.
To use: Brush on chicken, beef or pork while grilling.
