Preparation:
Heat 6 or 8 tablespoons of bacon or sausage grease in cast iron skillet until hot.
Add 2 heaping tablespoons of flour and stir until thick and light brown in color.
Add 1 small can tomato sauce, salt, pepper, a squirt of 1 tablespoon sugar, and Tabasco sauce.
Stir until well mixed, then add water to obtain the desired thickness, stirring constantly.
Simmer low until ready to serve. |
