Ingredients:
2 (6 1/2 oz) cans clams, chopped
1 cup onion, finely chopped
1 cup celery, diced
2 c potatoes, diced
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c margarine
3/4 c flour
1 qt half and half
dash pepper
fried bacon (optional) |
Preparation:
Drain clam juice, pour over vegetables and simmer 20 minutes until tender. Melt margarine; add flour, sugar and salt. Add half and half very slowly, stirring constantly. Stir until very thick, and then combine with vegetable mixture. Add clams and bacon, heat through. |
