Preparation:
Crust: Mix, by hand, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs. Mix together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt; add to shortening mixture. Press in ungreased jelly roll or pizza pan. Bake 12 minutes in 375 degrees oven (until golden, not brown). Cool. Mix cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, fruit juice and vanil- la. Spread over crust. Drain all fruit well. Cut up. Arrange over crust, if desired. Stir in juice and cornstarch over low heat until hot and thick, mixing well. Drizzle over top of fruit. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve. |
